From Caroline

This summer I will be going on my third and final mission trip and I am extremely excited. The past two mission trips I went on were some of the best experiences I've had. They've given me a chance to grow closer to my friends and God, all while helping others in need. One of my favorite memories from a mission trip was from two years ago when we went to Kokomo, Indiana. We had spent our first work day painting a room in a nursing home and helping out however we could. We came back again later in the week and this time was less labor and more spending time with the residents. We played bingo, video games, put on a talent show, and just talked with everyone. It was touching to see just how simply spending time with them and listening to their stories put a smile on their faces. It's such a great feeling to know you are making someone else feel good. Even doing the smallest thing can mean so much to someone. Knowing we put smiles on those residents faces that day meant a lot to me and was one of the highlights of that mission trip. I can't wait to help out again on the mission trip this summer.

Introducing the Mission Trip 2014

Mission Trip 2014: Asheville, North Carolina!

The youth of First Presbyterian Church of Northville are excited to be traveling to Asheville, NC this summer.  After a exciting, hot, and busy week in Chicago last year, we venture into the mountains to work with Asheville Youth Mission.  We will spend the week working with different organizations in the area, learning from and working with God's people in the area, and worshiping together.  It promises to be a full and fun week.

We start our journey towards North Carolina March 2nd.  Non of our trips are possible without the support (both prayerfully and financially) from you, the congregation of First Pres.  Youth will be in Boll hall throughout the month of March talking about all the fundraisers coming up.  And make sure you save the date for March 30th for the Annual Pancake Breakfast, after the 9:30am worship service.

Make sure you continue to follow this blog.  in the months leading up to our trip youth will be posting stories from past trips, things they are excited about for this trip, prayers, and much more.  We will also be posting throughout our trip in North Carolina (July 13-19).
We appreciate all your prayers in the past and thus far...Keep them coming!
