We had a great first day! It is 11:00pm, and your kids have officially surrived close to 30 hours without their cell phones! Breaking news: They miss them...but they are all great sports and really taking advantage of forming new relationships and engaging with the work and people during the day. We have a very full and fun day. The kids talk about our Water War game going on now...and it is heated! I have enjoyed these past two days with each of your kids and want to express how truly proud I am of each of them. They are representing themselves, their families, their church, and their faith so well. They have all grown in some way already, and have learned something new (even if it's just telling Jamie and Karin apart!)
We look forward to another full day tomorrow. Look back tomorrow night for more posts from more kids. We are enjoying the work, but we are also looking forward to Thursday when we will raft down the river together as a team and close our day with worship at the Montreat Conference Center where they are having a youth conference and worship this week.
Know that everyone is doing great...no injuries or issues of any kind.
